Top domestic producers of rapeseed oil are investing in modernization
Agrotechnika LLC, which is part of the Pan Kurchak Agroindustrial Group, purchased equipment to upgrade the oil shop. Half a million investment in modernization of production will improve the quality of rapeseed oil, reducing 6 times the phosphorus content in the finished product (up to 30 ppm.).
The need for investment in production is dictated by European market requirements, said the chairman of the supervisory board of APG “Mr. Kurchak” Sergei Gorlach. According to him, the oil direction of Agrotechnics LLC is export-oriented, and foreign buyers who produce biodiesel from Volyn oil carefully select their raw materials. After all, the quality of fuel and its safety for engines directly depends on the content of phosphorus in rapeseed oil. Therefore, after refining, export deliveries will increase, and the cost of such oil, respectively, will be more expensive.
Last year, the main buyers were Poland, Lithuania and Austria. Due to demand, the production of oil shop products of Agrotekhnika LLC in Turiysk increased by 45.8% compared to 2013. There is potential for growth and in 2015 – the planned volume of processing of almost 27 thousand tons of rapeseed. This is not only own, but also purchased raw materials, because the company has powerful warehouses for its storage in large quantities, and thus can minimize risks due to seasonal price fluctuations. This allows Volyn agricultural processors to confidently compete with giant companies in the oil industry and occupy one tenth of the total Ukrainian market. Last year, Agrotechnika entered the TOP-10 in terms of production and exports of rapeseed products. In order to maintain the leading position and increase the competitiveness of finished products, it is planned to install modern equipment for rapeseed oil refining by the end of the month.
