The International Renaissance Foundation will support the initiatives of APG “Pan Kurchak” and the Charitable Foundation “European Vector” aimed at self-organization of local communities in Volyn region.

On February 6, 2013, the Volyn Regional State Administration signed a memorandum of cooperation between the International Renaissance Foundation, Pan Kurchak Agro-Industrial Foundation and the European Vector Charitable Foundation to promote self-organization of local communities by supporting public initiatives aimed at solving current local problems. .

The signing of the memorandum was a logical continuation of the program “Increasing the well-being of communities”, which was first organized by the European Vector Charitable Foundation with the financial support of APG “Mr. Kurchak” and operated during 2012. According to the president of the charitable foundation Halyna Vedrych, during this period the foundation supported 214 public initiatives worth over UAH 1 million.

According to Anatoliy Arshulik, Chairman of the Pan Kurchak Agropromgroup, the Raising the Welfare of Communities program is not the first socially oriented initiative implemented with the support of the Agropromgroup. Financial support for the initiatives implemented by the Renaissance Foundation will be a new link in the involvement and support of public initiatives in the Volyn region by the Agro-Industrial Group. APG “Pan Kurchak” undertakes to provide VOBF “European Vector” in 2013 at least 400 thousand hryvnias to support projects of public initiatives.

Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Eduard Stoev stressed that the regional state administration has repeatedly supported public initiatives with the assistance of the Renaissance Foundation and helped implement them in the region, because cooperation between communities and government is the key to social balance and urgent needs.

Oleksiy Orlovskyi, Director of the Civil Society and Good Governance Program of the Renaissance Foundation, noted that the goal of involving the community in addressing the needs and influencing local governments is the basis for a permanent dialogue between civil society and government in those areas of reform , charitable organizations, bodies of self-organization of the population and initiative groups to determine the directions of their joint activities and develop action plans; conducting information campaigns in communities, general meetings of residents, public hearings to address existing problems.

The International Foundation undertakes to provide the European Vector Charitable Foundation in 2013, in accordance with its own grant procedures, 160,000 hryvnias to support projects of public, charitable organizations, self-organization bodies and initiative groups of the Volyn region.

The European Vector Charitable Foundation will address issues related to the announcement and administration of the competition in support of projects of public, charitable organizations, self-organization bodies and initiative groups of Volyn region, whose project activities will meet the priorities set out in the signed Memorandum.
